Lexus Laceup’s Next Stop – Ventura, CA

My friends Amber, Agatha, Ashley, my boy friend Matt and I did the Lexus Laceup Marathon Relay in Irvine back in September. It was one of the well organized races, I have been to. Lexus Laceup races attract close to 600 to 700 people. If you are tired of big city races with thousands of people, this is a good break! As much as I enjoy races like Long Beach Half Marathon with thousands of fellow runners, once in a while its nice to run a race that is not that crowded.

At the Irvine race, the medals were beautiful. There were photo booths ( I still have my printed photo from the event!). Gourmet Food trucks, served up nice delicious brunch, as the race entry includes free food. To top it all off, there was a beer garden, with Sierra Nevada beers. Even big races like America’s Finest City  aren’t offering beer, so I can always appreciate an opportunite to re-carb after a run! They were giving out these beautiful Lexus Water Bottles at the event, which are still my favorite! The race itself, was a nice out and back course, on a trail. Being a small race, means, most everyone had a chance at their age division awards!

Lexus Laceup – Ventura

Lexus Laceup Running series is 4 parts. Irvine was their first one. The next part of this series takes place in Ventura on October 22nd(Saturday). (Lexus Laceup races seem to be always on Saturday which I kind of like. For Sunday races, I have to spend all day Saturday being nervous!).  Their Palos Verdes race is on November 19th, and the Riverside Race day is December 4th. All Saturdays.

Lexus Laceup – Ventura Race weekend similar to all their other race events,  includes a half marathon, 10k and a 5k. Also there is a kids run. Ventura Race starts at 7:00am for 10k and half marathon. 7:45am for 5k. I looked at the elevation chart. The 5k/10k course is pretty flat, but the half marathon course has some good elevation for half way , and a nice drop downhill after. Registration is still open for Ventura Race. I have signed up to do the half marathon.

Registration and 30% discount code

Registration cost is $40 for  5k, $60 for 10k, $85 for half marathon. If you sign up for the Palos Verdes and Riverside togehter you will get a 20% off. You can also use my friend’s ambassador code LACEUPALBERTO for an additional 30% off. So with the Code, you will be paying $28 for 5k, $42 for 10k, and $59.50 for half marathon. If you sign up for other races, it goes down little more.
