Lexus Laceup Running Series will kick start their 2017 season on September 9th 2017 – Saturday – with their Irvine Race Weekend. The courses for 2017/Irvine race weekend is same as last year – at Mike Ward Community Park.  It will include a 5k/10k/Marathon Relay and kids run! If you run with South Coast Road Runners on Tursday Nights, part of our run route is through this course, during summer. its a nice and flat course. Last year I ran the Marathon Relay here in Irvine. It was an experience to say the least. It was with bunch of my friends and after running this race, I ended up signing up for the entire race series!

Lexus Laceup Running Series is one of the well organized race series. I find the race prices to be super reasonable, ( half marathons are $80, with discount codes, comes about $72!). There are plenty of water/aid stations through out the course. You get free race photos, which otherwise costs atleast $50. Post race after party includes free breakfast from some well known food trucks, and a free beer! Pretty awesome swags.(My friend Amber and I are always seen wearing Lexus Laceup Race Tech-T in most of our training runs, because they feel luxurious and soft and feel nice!) The Medals are pretty nice size!  The challenge series medal we got at the final race was like the biggest of any medals I have gotten last year!

Marathon Relay is one of the complicated race at this event, because you need few people to go in, and it costs about $225(with 10% discount code). Almost as expensive as LA Marathon, however you can have a team of 5 people run the race, and each of you will get all the race swags, so its justifiable. You can sign up for race series and get better discount that way. I highly recommend the half marathon distances at Ventura/Palos Verdes and Riverside. Even if Lexus is not in your list of races to do, these are really good opportunity for pre-race, trial runs, with well marked courses, for a reasonable price.

But Lexus Laceup Race series always attracts lot of families, that run with their children, and fun group of people that take the time to come run for causes and celebrations! Its a serious running race, and for rest of us, its also a celebration of everything! I saw a group of girls who came to celebrate their friends birthday, and this couple, who came and ran marathon relay sharing the distance between two of them and who scored the top place! If you live in Orange County be sure to mark your calendar for this race!
