As much as I love OC/Long Beach/Surfcity Marathon weekends, where the race is more about running than anything, I genuinely enjoy Renegade Races that are themed most of the time! I have run the summer trail runs on Thursdays(remember those after work day races with BBQ! Super fun!), and the Laguna Hills memorial run honoring marines! Their Holiday Series started with the October/Terrifying Ten miler race which took place in San Clemente. The Thanks Giving stop was San Dimas/Turkey Trot. The last stop of the Holiday Series will be this Saturday in Irvine, – the Santa Run!
Apart from the fact that I am a big fan of renegade races, and the fact that they are local(You can drop off registration checks at their office if you wanted!), and they always keep it fun and accommodate kids and the entire family in most of their races, the holiday series medals have been super fabulous! They are Ashworth medals, and super fine quality and I absolutely love earning them! The Santa Run one especially looks almost as fancy as a nice ornament! That alone is more reason for me to get excited about this race! On top of that, those who would have run all the 3 races will earn a series challenge medal, which would be one for your collection!
It is still professionally chip timed, and all that a competitive runner would look for in a race. This run would serve both families and serious runners looking to PR!
This race is also our South Coast Road Runner running club’s club race, so expect to see some fastest runners on the course!
Santa Run Details:
When: This Saturday – December 10th 2016, 5k and 10k start at 8:00am, and 1/2 mile kids fun run start at 10am.
Price: $45 for 10k, $35 for 5k, $23 for Kids Fun Run. (Code RaceGrader gets you 10% off)
Price with Discount: $40.5 for 10k, $31.5 for 5k.
